Moving to Altinkum Didim or Akbuk in Turkey? Even the simplest moves cause headaches, and an international move is not easy. You need to plan and re-check all details if you want your moving experience to be a success. You could, however, make a successful international move with planning. The following checklist would help you take care of all you need during the international move.

1. Obtain Necessary Paperwork: Almost all countries require visas for foreigners residing or working for an extended period of time. You would also need a passport when your move is going to be an international one. For the visas, you need to find out the specific requirements of the country you are travelling to. Contact the embassy or consulate of your destination country, but you must always talk directly to an official to ensure you have the correct and proper information. You may even need to visit the embassy personally. Make sure to obtain the correct visas for all family members – there are often several different work, student and visitor visas.

2. Choose an International Moving Company: International Moving Companies have the experience and contacts to transport personal belongings across borders. Do not wait until the last minute – you should begin your search for an international mover several months before your move. Choose the mover based on recommendations from people you trust or you can conduct your own research. Check out movers for basic information, then call each likely mover of your choice and speak to a customer service professional. You should ask about insurance (for breakage and loss in transit) and the company’s experience in moving to your new country. If a company has rarely or never moved belongings there, you are suggested to pick another likely mover.

3. Determine the stuff you are going to bring and leave behind in the store : Perhaps, you do not need to take all of your belongings with you for your new destination and new country to live. You could buy voluminous and large items, like furniture, when you arrive and electrical appliances you used to make use at home would not even work on most foreign electric systems. These items must be left behind. Do bring personal items, clothing’s and other things that you would use in your new daily too. You could also plan to bring a few months’ supply of toiletries, fragrances and medications so that you are covered while you find local options.

4. Your childrens’ school : If you are moving internationally with children, you should arrange their schooling before you leave. Research both international and local the schools to see which will be the optimal fit. Ask your country’s embassy and expatriates in the new country you are heading for their experiences and consultations. Then contact these likely schools to determine curriculum, facilities, and language issues.

5. Look into Shipping your Car: Before you get your car transported, you need to decide if shipping it makes sense. Check for special duties or tariffs on car imports. Would your driver’s license be valid there? What would the cost to rent or lease a car after arrival be? Talk to your international removal company and the country’s embassy for advice to ship your car.

6. Pack some items separately for shipping and for carrying : Keep in mind that your international move company would always prefer packing themselves since the insurance companies always require professional export-wrappings and if a damage happened afterwards they would refuse paying you back on basis improper packing. For your belongings to arrive at your new international destination sometimes you got to wait for weeks. Henceforth, you should pack and separate the articles you will need for the short term. Items like important documents, seasonal clothing, medications and favorite children’s toys need to travel with you.

7. Ensure you could be contacted easily during the move: People might need to liaise with you before, during and after your move. Make sure you could be reached via a domestic phone number until the last moment before and after you depart. If possible, get a cell phone that works both at home and in your new country. This would help you keep in touch with business colleagues, friends and family members back home incessantly.
